

Mintee Chinese – Terms of Use

1. Introduction
These Terms of Use govern access to and use of the Mintee Chinese platform (“Service”) operated by Mintee (“we”, “us”, “our”). By using the Service, schools and their authorised staff agree to these terms.
2. Eligible Users
- The Service is available only to schools, not to individual consumers.
- Student accounts may only be created by school staff.
- Students cannot sign up directly or use the platform outside a school-managed environment.
3. Platform Features
The Service provides:
- Quizzes
- Assignments
- Points / experience tracking
No messaging or communication features are included.
4. Accounts and Access
Schools provide student usernames and manage identity mappings offline. Teachers log in using their school email address.
Users are responsible for keeping login credentials confidential.
5. Payment and Subscription
- Schools pay per student account, billed per semester (two Australian school terms).
- Teacher accounts are free under the school subscription.
- Access continues only while the subscription remains active.
6. Content Ownership
6.1 Teacher Content
Teachers retain ownership of all instructional content they upload (e.g., custom questions, materials).
6.2 Student Interactions
Students do not upload content; they complete platform-provided modules only.
6.3 Mintee Content
All curriculum, question banks, modules, and platform materials created by Mintee remain our intellectual property. Schools and users may not:
- Copy or distribute Mintee curriculum outside the platform
- Use automated tools to scrape or harvest content
- Reproduce or republish proprietary materials
7. Acceptable Use
Users must not:
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, exploit, or attack the system
- Use bots, scripts, or automations to manipulate scoring or progress
- Try to circumvent access controls
- Harm platform performance
- Upload or introduce malicious code
We may suspend accounts engaged in abuse.
8. Service Availability
We strive to maintain reliable service but may occasionally perform maintenance or experience downtime. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability, though we aim to minimise disruptions.
9. Privacy and Data Protection
Use of the Service is governed by the Mintee Learning Privacy Policy. Schools are responsible for obtaining necessary permissions or notices required under applicable law.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the extent permitted under Australian law:
- The Service is provided “as is”.
- We are not responsible for loss of data, lost instructional time, or indirect damages.
- Schools are responsible for proper configuration and usage of the Service.
11. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Australia, and any disputes will be handled under Australian jurisdiction.
12. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service indicates acceptance of the updated Terms.
